ANIVIA, THE CRYOPHOENIX
Hi, this is our frist entry on league of legends, I'm Alvus and today I'm going to talk about probably my favourite champion on league: Anivia. ( This entry might be updated and improved)
ROLE:
Anivia is a mage champion, this means that his damage is based on the ability power you have (AP), anivia can fulfill two roles, these are mid laner and support, however, from my point of view it is more effective on the midle lane, but she also can do great a the support role.
SKILLS:
Lets have a closer look on Anivia's abilities:
Pasive - Rebirth:
When anivia is killed, while rebirth is not on cool down Anivia will change of form and be an egg for 6 seconds or so, if the egg is not killed anivia comes back to life.
Q - Flash Frost:
The Q is and skillshot which has two casts, firstly Anivia throws a "Block" of Ice in the direction selected, this will slow the enemy targets who are in it way dealing some damage to them. The second cast consist in making the block of ice explote, by this the enemies that are in the range of the block will get stuned and will recieve extra damage.
W - Crystalize:
When W is pressed anivia creates an ice wall (where your mouse is pointing with a limited range of course), while the wall is active anyone can go through it, after a period of time the wall melts and disappears. This is really usefull to isolate enemies or make them go were you want them to go.
E - Frostbite:
This is the skill that gives Anivia a true burst potential. Anivia throws a piece of frost wind to their enemies dealing great damage, If the target of the E has been slowed or stunned by the Q or R, the damage dealt by frostbide will be doubled. This makes Anivias damage insane.
R - Glacial Storm:
In a selected area, Anivia creates a glacial storm which slows all the targets on it and deals damage to then gradually. This is a great method of wave clear and crowd controll what gives anivia the capability to change a teamfight, with this and with the W.
STRONG POINTS:
One of the strongests points of Anivia is its wave clear and crowd control, this is thanks to her Q, which also provides her CC and to her R, that as well as the Q it provides anivia some CC, in this case is just a slow, meanwhile the Q can provide slow and stun.
With his W Anivia creates a Wall that can be passed through unless you have flash or a Dash, timing this wall correctly in a teamfight can make your team win the fight, you can also set the wall in order to isolate someone of the enemy team so your can colapse on him and kill him. Doing this you will be able to have a number advantage if doing a fight or you can prepare to do any objective such as Baron, or sieging the enemy team and try to pick up a tower or even a inhibitor.
WEAKNESSES
As you might have apreciated, Anvia has a really big problem and this is its movility, if you hard engage on her you will kill her, trigger her passive or force her to flash. Even though Anivia has some cc tools such as her stun, slows and even the wall, she is very vulnerable to ganks and she can be easily targeted and deleted.
Thats is why when playing her you should have are really good positioning, this is, being on the backline letting the tanks of your team go ahead and protect you. But you should not depend fully on your team and you should have a clear idea of what to do in every situation.
